They are great for menial things. Picture scrap-booking, and some math stuff. Good luck building large networks, or developing code. Windows is a much more robust platform, and with it comes more interesting and hard to resolve issues. Macs are....well....plug and play toys. They are just fine for the entry level computer user or someone who doesn't want/need to do much beyond browse the web or play with pictures. Outside of that, you can't get much value out of a Mac.
